This study evaluates and compares 20 algorithms for recovering the local intra-voxel fiber structure from diffusion MRI data and is based on the results of the challenge. In addition to the 13 submissions received during the contest, we also considered 7 additional well-established reconstruction algorithms with the aim to have a more comprehensive comparison. All submissions have been manually checked to fix known problems identified during the contest (e.g. wrong data format, orientation issues etc).

The following table gives an overview of the algorithms. For sake of clarity, the algorithms have been grouped into four different classes depending on the characteristics of the sampling scheme adopted.
